How can I enter DeX mode?You can enter DeX mode using one of the following three methods:
• Drag down from the top of any app to enter DeX Mode.
• Select the desktop space on the right side of the recent apps.
• If there is no desktop, press the + button to create a DeX desktop space and enter DeX mode. -
How can I exit DeX mode?You can exit DeX mode using one of the following three methods:
• Drag the app header to the top of the tablet.
• Select an app outside the desktop space on the left side of recent apps to exit both DeX mode and the selected app.
• Select an empty space in recent apps (excluding the desktop space) to exit DeX mode and return to the home screen. -
How do I change the mirroring mode after connecting to an external monitor?You can switch to mirroring mode using one of the following two methods:
• Quick Settings Panel > Wired DeX
• Settings > Device Connections > Samsung DeX > Connected Display > Screen Mirroring
If wireless DeX is connected, you cannot switch to mirroring mode. -
How do I wirelessly connect to an external monitor?You can connect to a monitor that supports wireless connection using one of the following two methods:
• Quick Panel > Wireless DeX
• Settings > Device Connections > Samsung DeX > Connect wirelessly -
How do I create a workspace?When you enter DeX mode, workspace 1 is created by default. If no worksapce appears, you can create one by selecting the + button to the right of the recent apps. You can also add a new workspace at any time by selecting the "+" button.

How many workspaces can I create?You can create up to 4 workspaces (desktops).

What is the maximum number of apps I can run in DeX mode?You can run up to 5 apps simultaneously. If you launch a 6th app, the first app you opened will be minimized.

Which devices are compatible with Samsung DeX?Samsung DeX is compatible with most Galaxy smartphones and Galaxy Tabs.* Some functionality may differ between devices.
1. Up to four workspaces available, with a maximum of five apps open simultaneously in each workspace.
2. Compatible with Galaxy S Series tablets running One UI 3.1 or later and TVs, monitors and PCs that support either standard video input, Miracast, SmartView or Wireless Dex. Devices should be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
3. Samsung DeX wireless connection is supported with TVs that support Android smartphone screen mirroring (Miracast) only.
